Dr. Michael Osterholm: Conflicting Signals – Outlook for Combating COVID-19 in 2021

In this episode of Deciding Factors, we talked with Dr. Michael Osterholm, Regents Professor, McKnight Endowed Chair in Public Health and Director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota, and author of the 2017 New York Times bestseller The Deadliest Enemy, about the outlook for the world’s fight against the deadly pandemic and the prospects for vaccine efficacy and distribution.

ABOUT DR. MICHAEL OSTERHOLM: Dr. Osterholm is currently Regents Professor and Director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota.  He spent two decades as head epidemiologist at the Minnesota Department of Health and is author of the 2017 book The Deadliest Enemy, a NYT bestseller about the threat posed by global pandemics.  Dr. Ostehrolm serves on the 13-member Biden Transition COVID-19 Advisory Board, but he spoke with Deciding Factors from his vantage point as a global infectious disease key opinion leader and not on behalf of the Advisory Board.
