GLG Brews a New Idea

With a mission to promote the exchange of expertise, the company wanted its New York city office to reflect the same values. GLG took the idea of water cooler chat and caffeinated it instead with a coffee bar.

“Our previous offices had a very standard layout, so our goal with this redesign was to transform the experience of working in our space for our 400 employees,” explains Richard Socarides, head of public affairs. “We implemented activity-based working, which is a different concept from hot desking. We created a dynamic multiplicity of environments for people to work in. Our coffee bar has been a central part of this shift.”
