Biography: 

Larry Tabb is the Director of Market Structure Research at Bloomberg, LLP. Currently Larry is writing as well as managing a team developing research and insight on financial markets infrastructure, technology, regulation, trading practices and industry issues. Prior to joining Bloomberg in June 2020, Larry was the Research Chairman of TABB Group, the financial markets’ strategic advisory and research firm, where he managed research and consulting for TABB Group. Mr. Tabb publishes on many aspects of the capital markets industry and has analyzed both US and European market structure; central clearing, credit default swaps, fixed income, equity and foreign exchange trading; financial markets trading and processing systems; analytical trading tools; cloud computing, and financial markets infrastructure. Before founding TABB Group, Larry was Vice President and Founder of TowerGroup’s Securities & Investments practice.

Robert Sloan founded S3 Partners in 2003 and is its Managing Partner. S3 is a leading financial data and analytics firm with the best-selling third-party data set in the history of the Bloomberg terminal. More specifically, it has workflow solutions that solve for the new SEC rules: 10c-1a and 13F-2. S3 has 500+ firms and 10,000+ users as clients and is often cited in TV, digital and print news. With its 140,000 followers on X, (formerly known as Twitter), S3 is one of the leading commentators for rules and regulations for market structure. Mr. Sloan was a significant part of the Netflix docuseries: “Eat The Rich: The GameStop Saga,” which was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Business Documentary in 2023. Mr. Sloan is also the author of the book Don’t Blame the Shorts: Why Short Sellers Are Always Blamed for Market Crashes and How History Is Repeating Itself (McGraw-Hill, Fall 2009). It was named one of the best business books of the year by Bloomberg and The Economist. Mr. Sloan has contributed pieces to Vanity Fair, The Financial Times, has appeared as a guest lecturer at The Cato Institute, and is a regular contributor on Bloomberg Television. Institutional Investor named Mr. Sloan as one of the top people in Trading Technology in 2019 and 2020. Prior to founding S3 Partners in 2003, Mr. Sloan was a Managing Director and the Global Head of Prime Services, Equity Finance and Delta One products at Credit Suisse First Boston. In addition, Mr. Sloan was a member of Credit Suisse’s Securities Division Operating Committee and the Product Managers Committee. In 1998, Mr. Sloan founded and chaired the Credit Suisse Index Co., the first hedge fund index. Mr. Sloan received a B.A. in History from Washington & Lee University.
