The world’s insight network again accepting applications from social entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders.
New York, New York; April 19, 2021 – GLG, the world’s insight network, today launched the eighth year of its pioneering GLG Social Impact Fellowship, announcing the opening of applications for its 2021 class of Social Impact Fellows. Applications will be accepted today through June 10, 2021. (The application is available here.)
GLG is the world’s insight network, bringing decision makers the insight it takes to get ahead. GLG’s network of experts is the world’s largest and most varied source of first-hand expertise, with thousands of new experts recruited every week.
GLG Social Impact is the company’s award-winning initiative that helps social enterprises, nonprofits, and foundations around the world solve their most urgent challenges. The Social Impact Fellowship, its flagship program, offers select leaders an intensive, two-year partnership with GLG that provides pro bono access to the full suite of GLG product offerings and the support of hands-on GLG client service teams.
In 2020, GLG mobilized its resources to support COVID-19 relief and the fight for racial justice, contributing over $3M to more than 170 organizations. GLG also focused last year’s Fellowship on these issues, awarding the 2020 Fellowship to nine organizations on the frontlines of driving change. While GLG continues to support organizations addressing COVID-19 and racial equity, the 2021 Fellowship is open to all organizations working to help make a difference in any issue area.
“At GLG, we believe we have a responsibility to contribute our unique capabilities to those fighting the world’s toughest challenges,” said GLG CEO Paul Todd. “For nearly a decade, our Fellowship has supported leaders whose organizations are changing lives and improving systems around the globe, and I’m excited to continue this work as we build our 2021 class of Fellows.”
The GLG Social Impact Fellowship, launched in 2014, now counts 65 leaders in its global community of social entrepreneurs, whose organizations reach more than 50M annually. Fellows and their organizations tackle a wide range of social issues around the world, including climate change, food insecurity, mental health, and more. After completing their two-year fellowship, Fellows remain lasting members of the global GLG community. (Learn more about past and present GLG Fellows here.)
“GLG has long mobilized the power of insight to help those making a positive difference in the world,” said GLG Vice President and Head of Social Impact Jen Field. “We’re thrilled to kick off our Fellowship’s eighth year and looking forward to helping a new class of Fellows accelerate and scale their impact.”
“GLG is a superpower,” said Clementine Jacoby, Founder and Executive Director of Recidiviz and 2020 GLG Social Impact Fellow. “GLG experts have been transformative – not only in the early stages of product development, when you need a depth of expertise, but also for process- and people-related questions. It saved us so much time for user experience research, impact analysis, and operational challenges. As we expand to more states to safely reduce incarceration, GLG has been a fantastic partner for me and our Recidiviz staff.”
“Participating in the GLG Social Impact Fellowship has unlocked massive potential across the Nexleaf team,” said Nithya Ramanathan, Co-Founder and CEO of Nexleaf Analytics and 2020 GLG Social Impact Fellow. “From understanding technical vaccine supply chain questions to improving our external communications, GLG has been a valuable partner, especially as we have expanded our work during the pandemic.”
“A lot of people have access to expertise because of their networks and privilege. The GLG Social Impact Fellowship is increasing equity for the social sector by democratizing access to networks and making expertise accessible for nonprofit organizations,” said Rose Afriyie, Co-Founder of mRelief and 2020 GLG Social Impact Fellow. “GLG has been valuable as mRelief tests out new ideas and expands our work to help people gain access to social services and eat with dignity.”
The application process for the Fellowship is highly competitive, with selection criteria based on organization mission and model and the applicant’s articulation of how GLG’s resources will help them increase efficacy and scale at key moments in their organization’s growth. Applicants must be the Founder, Executive Director, President, or CEO of a nonprofit or social enterprise with an innovative model creating demonstrable social change. Organizations must have a multi-year plan in place, be 2-10 years old, and fit within GLG’s budget criteria.
The application is available online here. Applications will be accepted until June 10, 2021, and the 2021 Fellows will be announced in the fall.
