TARGET POPULATION
GLG surveyed 30 senior executives working in supermarket/ grocery chains in the UK. This is the third iteration in this series.
What will you learn from this survey?
- Respondents commented on the current availability issues and how availability levels are impacting in-store fulfilment.
- The survey investigated the anticipated outlook of sales as well as how consumers are expected to act in the next six months.
- Furthermore, the survey looked at the biggest concerns within the industry, such as staffing, costs, prices, and supply chain issues.
Example of findings:
- Base pay remains by far the most important factor (80%) in attracting and retaining employees. Flexible working comes second, according to more than half of experts (57%).
- On average, online sales are now representing more than half of sales (56%), finally surpassing in-store purchases.
- Over half of experts (64%) still believe that focus on supply chain will increase in the next six months, though not as significantly as in 2022.
DELIVERABLES
The GLG Surveys team drafted the questionnaire with the support of GLG Network Member, Graham Wilkie, Managing Partner of Geodia.
The standard deliverable includes:
