TARGET POPULATION
For this Network Survey, GLG surveyed 70 senior executives working across a broad range of industries who are currently using/converting bioplastics across the US and Europe. This is the fifth iteration in this tracker series.

- Respondents discussed the latest trends in the bioplastics market and current challenges.
- The survey also gathered insights about the future bioplastics demand and budget allocation.
- Lastly, the experts shared their views on the interaction with various bioplastic producers such as Total-Corbion, NatureWorks, BASF, Biotec and Novamont.
Example of findings:
- NatureWorks, Total-Energies and Novamont are tied as the top producer according to converters, Total-Energies is also at the top for end-users followed closely by Danimer Scientific and Avantium.
- Four-in-ten consider that industrial and home composting are the most important traits when selecting bioplastic products.
- Converters’ average spend on bioplastic resin has dropped to $1.61 per pound for bio-degradable bioplastic and $1.43 per pound for bio-based bioplastic.
DELIVERABLES
The GLG Surveys team drafted the questionnaire with the support of GLG Network Member, Peter Clydesdale, former Chief Commercial Officer / co-CEO at NatureWorks LLC.
The standard deliverable includes:
