TARGET POPULATION
GLG surveyed 60 senior executives working in pharmaceutical companies across the US and Europe (UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy). This is the second iteration in this tracker series.
What will you learn from this survey?
- Respondents discussed the current scenario of sourcing products, the suppliers & distributors they are working with, and average inventory level most pharmaceutical companies normally keep for critical APIs.
- The survey also gathered insight into the approximate value of catalyst purchases per year and the countries where the experts are sourcing them from.
- Lastly, participants provided their views on the most important factors that influence their decision-making process for selecting suppliers.
Example of findings:
- Three-in-ten (30%) pharmaceuticals are currently working with Mylan which also is the API supplier with the most awareness (62%).
- Almost six-in-ten (58%) pharmaceuticals who buy catalysts spend less than $1M per year in catalysts, the proportion spending over $3M has decreased by more than half.
- Over half of respondents say price (65%) and regulatory / compliance (53%) are the most important factors when choosing a supplier, although regulatory / compliance lost some traction.
DELIVERABLES
The GLG Surveys team drafted the questionnaire with the support of GLG Network Member, Harmeet Lamba, former Vice President & Head (API’s & Niche Formulations) at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited.
The standard deliverable includes:
- 1 x Individual responses (“raw data”) in Excel.
- 1 x PPT report with aggregated data.
- Executive summary with key takeaways and highlights from the raw data.
