SURVEY DETAILS
TARGET POPULATION

For this Network Survey, GLG surveyed 70 senior executives working within the water meter market (suppliers/distributors) in the US and Europe (UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain).

What will you learn from this survey?

  • Respondents shared insights into the water meter market landscape, including key purchasing criteria, preferred interfaces, and current adoption rates of remote-readable meters.
  • Furthermore, the survey examined core industry challenges like price pressure and high competition, customer transition drivers to smart meters as well as concerns over installation complexity and upfront costs.
  • Lastly, the research looked at product perceptions and supplier benchmarking, comparing leading brands based on technology innovation, fulfilment time, customer satisfaction, product portfolio, and meter portfolio.

Examples of findings:

  • Half of respondents believe that customers are looking to upgrade to smart meters in 3-5 years.
  • Close to three-in-ten respondents (29%) consider the high upfront investment costs, and installation complexity and disruptions as the main risks when planning to renew the installed meter base.
  • Around one-in-four consider Diehl Metering and Badger Meter as the top 2 companies across all criteria.
