TARGET POPULATION

For this Network Survey, GLG surveyed 60 heat pump installers across the UK, Germany, and France. This is the fourth iteration in this tracker series.

What will you learn from this survey?

  • Respondents provided an overview of the current situation in Germany, France and the UK in the heat pumps market, including key drivers of demand and top factors for deciding the type and brand of heat pumps.
  • The survey also assessed installation costs vs. consumer prices for heat pumps, as well as the annual maintenance costs for various types of heat pumps.
  • Lastly, the survey gathered insights into the most popular manufacturers and predicted the growth of the industry.

Examples of findings:

  • 95% and 93% of respondents expect the Air/Air and the Air/Water heat pump market to grow in the next 12 months, respectively.
  • 35% of German experts consider the quality of products the decisive factor in selecting a heat pump, while three-in-ten (30%) from France and the UK consider the technical performance of the heat pump to be the most important factor.
  • Geothermal heat pump installation costs have increased lately, although customer prices have decreased in France and the UK.

Deliverables

The GLG Surveys team drafted the questionnaire with the support of GLG Network Member, Peter Cerny, former Head of International Sales Operations at NIBE Energy Systems.
