TARGET POPULATION

For this Network Survey, GLG surveyed 90 senior executives from Data Centres across Europe (UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, and France) and APAC regions (China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand). This is the third iteration in this tracker series.

What will you learn from this survey?

  • The survey gathered insights on the future outlook of the data centres industry and the current challenges faced.
  • Respondents also commented on the expected future power requirements, its implications on the industry, largest threats and emerging geographies.
  • Lastly, the research gathered experts’ views on sustainability and impact of artificial intelligence on the data centres industry.

Examples of findings:

  • Close to three-in-ten (29%) agree that increased regulation/data sovereignty rules are one of the main threats to colocation markets.
  • Almost three-quarters (73%) selected data security as the main factor for drawing customers to colocation sites.
  • Almost all (96%) experts agree that ML, automation, and AI are the main factors shaping the future of the industry.

Deliverables

The GLG Surveys team drafted the questionnaire with the support of GLG Network Member, Arash Nafisi, former Colocation Business Developer, Data Center Strategy Development at Amazon Web Services.
