TARGET POPULATION

GLG surveyed 100 senior executives who are users of payment platforms in their business across Europe, US, and the MENA region. This is the fifth iteration in this tracker series.

What will you learn from this survey?

  • The survey revisited the Fintech payments landscape, assessing use, key concerns, and consideration of the various vendors such as PayPal, Apple, and Stripe.
  • Furthermore, the survey investigated adoption of “Buy Now, Pay Later” solutions, potential integration of this and the timeline for doing so.
  • Lastly, respondents evaluated the expected developments in the payment sector over the next couple of years including regulatory changes, market consolidation and use of artificial intelligence.

Examples of findings:

  • PayPal remains on top as the company that has had the biggest impact in the payment sector, although it dropped from one-in-three (35%) respondents stating the same in May 2022 to one-in-four (25%) in April 2024.
  • Over six-in-ten (62%) respondents are planning to introduce BNPL solutions in 2H-2025 and beyond.
  • Over two-in-five experts are expecting developments from biometrics (44%) and artificial intelligence (43%) to impact the payment sector over the coming years.

Deliverables

The GLG Surveys team drafted the questionnaire with the support of GLG Network Member, Daniela Sozzi, Board Advisor and Strategy Consultant at DNYC Ltd.

  • How do you see overall transaction fees changing over the next five years?
