Associate, Network Member Partner Operations

Experience Level: Junior

We are seeking an Associate to support GLG’s business in Japan, in the Tokyo office.

Associates are the engine behind GLG’s Insight Network, the world’s largest and most varied source of first-hand expertise. The Associate role is a fast-paced, expert-facing role. Associates help drive GLG’s business forward and add value through building expert network further. As an Associate, you will need to quickly understand expert’s background and summarize their bio in effective way. Associates complete a comprehensive training program, receive daily coaching and feedback, and develop strong, transferable business skills that will help them excel in their current and future roles.  

After achieving specific quantitative and qualitative goals, and depending on the business need, Associates typically progress to Senior Associate roles within the team or into Client Solutions.

Key Associate Responsibilities Include​ 

  • ​Support new experts onboarding process, answering questions and follow up on missing information by phone, email and other methods to complete their profile.
  • Fill out, modify Experts’ profiles and write effective biographies in Japanese and English. Effective profiles are easy to understand and highlight expertise based on an Expert’s background.
  • Reach out to experts and renew their GLG engagement that has expired.
  • May be involved in other activities, defined at the time, which support increased expert onboarding.
  • Learning and adhering to our Compliance policies

As an Associate, You Will LearnTo 

  • Excel in a phone and email based fast paced environment that demands attention to detail.
  • Develop strong, transferable business skills, including communication, time management, negotiating and the ability to achieve monthly/quarterly targets.
  • Develop the skills required to quickly and effectively condense information that can be used for business decision making.
  • Develop pitching, persuasion and negotiation skills.

Ideal Candidates Have​ 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in written English and
  • Confident and strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal skills​ and motivation to work on the phone daily with Network Members and potential recruits.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, team environment where we strive to provide an excellent experience for experts and clients.
  • Ability to work responsibly and manage multiple, simultaneous tasks and prioritize effectively, given that priorities shift quickly at GLG.
  • High motivation to exceed personal weekly, monthly, and quarterly commercial targets.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly digest and implement feedback and coaching.
  • Eagerness to learn about new topics, industries, and companies.
