Delivering Healthcare to Those Who Need It Most

“400 million people around the world don’t have access to basic primary care,” according to Possible CEO Mark Arnoldy. The problem? While established approaches to healthcare in the public and private sectors—including philanthropic initiatives—can be effective, they are largely unsuited to address the unique challenges of those living in extreme poverty. Since 2008, Possible has treated 500,000 patients in rural Nepal through the organization’s integrated, “durable” healthcare system of hospitals, clinics, and network of community health workers. For his efforts, Arnoldy was selected as a 2015 GLG Social Impact Fellow. Mark Arnoldy sits down with GLG to discuss how Possible is delivering essential health services to some of the world’s most underserved populations.

Mark Arnoldy is the CEO of Possible, a nonprofit healthcare company that delivers high-quality, low-cost healthcare to marginalized communities around the world. As CEO, Arnoldy leads overall strategy and works to develop key partnerships for the organization. Arnoldy was named a 2015 Social Entrepreneur of the Year by the Schwab Foundation / World Economic Forum, and, in 2014, was named one of Forbes magazine’s top 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneurs. Arnoldy completed Harvard’s Global Health Effectiveness Program in 2010, was a Fulbright Scholar in Nepal, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
