Understanding a La Carte Cable and Disruptive Content Distribution
Landel Hobbs sits down with GLG to discuss content production, a la carte cable, and the evolving landscape of content consumption. He explains that distribution companies will have to adapt as content distribution methods change and where they may find opportunity during a period of disruption.
Landel Hobbs is CEO and President of LCH Enterprises LLC, a firm he founded in January 2011. He provides consulting services in the broader telecommunication and media ecosystem for PE companies, hedge funds, VC firms, investment companies and other consulting firms. Prior to consulting, Mr. Hobbs was with Time Warner for almost 20 years as COO and CFO of Time Warner Cable, also the parent company in finance and CAO of Turner Broadcasting. Mr. Hobbs was COO at Time Warner Cable from September 2005 to December 2010. He was responsible for all residential cable operations (video, voice and high speed data), commercial operations and ad sales.
His working scope also covered marketing, customer care, product development and technical operations. When he was CFO at Time Warner Cable from September 2001 to September 2005, Mr. Hobbs was responsible for all financial areas, including SEC reporting, budgeting, forecasting, tax, shared services, information technology and investor relations. Mr. Hobbs was Vice President Financial Analysis and Operations Support at AOL Time Warner from September 2000 to September 2001. He also spent seven years as Chief Accounting Officer at Turner Broadcasting from 1993 to 2000. Mr. Hobbs had experience as Senior Vice President at Banc One Illinois Corp and Senior Audit Manager at KPMG in his earlier career. Mr. Hobbs is currently a Director of ValueVision Media.
