Access to education and adequate in-home technology remains a major challenge in today’s virtual schooling environment. Comp-U-Dopt, a Texas-based nonprofit, is trying to fix that – with the help of GLG Social Impact and our Black, African, and Caribbean+ (BAC+) employee network. GLG counts Austin, Texas as one of its major hubs.

GLG’s BAC+ network nominated Comp-U-Dopt for our award-winning Social Impact Partners Program. The organization provides underserved students access to preowned computers, while teaching them critical technical and digital literacy skills in the process. Their hands-on curriculum prepares students for high demand careers in STEM.

When the organization needed help expanding its program, they turned to GLG for support. GLG connected them to several industry experts for insight on how best to build out their curriculum.

“The experts that GLG put us in touch with were exactly what we were looking for,” said Jacqui Babbili, the National Program Director for Comp-U-Dopt. “They helped provide the framework for a tech education module for high school students around digital citizenship and the basics of how to build a website. It was a perfect fit!”
