GLG hosted more than 100 guests for a half-day conference on the future of social impact at its global headquarters in New York on Thursday, October 24, 2019. The program featured presentations from GLG Social Impact Fellows and candid panel discussions from a wide range of thought leaders under the theme: Changing the Rules for Changing the World. Attendees included clients, Network Members, Social Impact Fellows, and other invited guests.
As companies are increasingly judged on their willingness to help contribute to social change, panelists were asked to consider what this moment means for how governments, nonprofits, foundations, social entrepreneurs, and the companies themselves collaborate to drive progress.
GLG Social Impact Fellow Julie Cordua of Thorn introduced the opening panel featuring GLG CEO Paul Todd; David Gelles, Corner Office columnist and business reporter at The New York Times; Ken Mehlman, Global Head of Public Affairs and co-Head of Global Impact at KKR; and Kathy Wylde, CEO of the Partnership for New York City.
