Associate, Engagement Management (Law)

Experience Level: Junior

The Engagement Associate position is a key client-facing role on GLG Law’s Business Development team. Playing a vital part in unlocking the value of GLG Law’s platform with clients, the Engagement Associate will be tasked with managing ongoing engagements and projects, developing relationships with existing clients and users, and refining the group’s processes and procedures. They will have responsibility to help develop relationships with law firm clients and collaborate with Business Development (BD) and Client Solutions (CS) professionals to deliver white glove service throughout the lifecycle of an engagement. Finally, they will have extensive contact with our Network Members (NM), as they ensure projects run smoothly from both client and Network Member perspectives. 

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

  • Growing relationships and user base from existing GLG clients. This relationship development will stem from in-person (when feasible) and Zoom client meetings, email exchanges and phone interactions. Engagement Associates are responsible for developing deeper relationship with key contacts at law firms and associated client organizations.
  • Managing ongoing client engagements, including regular check-ins with both clients and NMs. The Engagement Associate will remediate issues and ensure project success while working closely with an Engagement Manager to receive guidance.
  • Coordinating with Law Operations Associate(s) on timesheets, invoicing, and collection issues, while also minimizing bad debt.
  • Directly engaging and building relationships across all seniority levels with current clients and referrals to articulate GLG Law’s brand and tailor our value proposition.
  • Working closely with BD and CS colleagues in a collaborative manner to deepen existing relationships and identify new prospects.
  • Helping build and execute account plans.
  • Achieving team revenue objectives by helping GLG Law’s broader team to prioritize opportunities.
  • Helping develop organized marketing activities. Including, but not limited to, planning and holding formal, engagement optimization meetings with current users and prospects alongside team members.
  • Enhancing the GLG Law brand and act as a personable face of GLG Law.
  • Articulating the value of GLG’s learning platform to large and small audiences alike.

Key performance metrics for the Engagement Associate include expanding penetration of existing clients and monetization of work as well as new user acquisition. They will manage existing relationships and engagements, minimize project failures or write-offs, reduce bad debt, and assist overall penetration in law firms and associated clients.   

An ideal candidate will have the following: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • 1-4 years of experience in sales, account management, customer service/support, or litigation services
  • Ability to develop, build, and execute account plans
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial/leadership skills, with focus on sales or account management
  • Outstanding communication skills and willing to be a team player
  • Highly organized and proficient in time management
  • Experience interacting with senior executives
  • Familiarity with office systems/software such as Salesforce, etc.

Working Environment: Flexible / Hybrid working arrangements typically requiring 2 days per week in office.

Compensation: GLG is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. Certain roles may also be eligible for incentive compensation.

The anticipated hiring base salary range for this role is:
$56,400$56,400 USD
