Manager, India Accounting

Reports To: Senior Manager, Accounting

Work Location: Gurugram with a minimum of 3 days per week work from office

Shift Timing: 11 AM IST to 8 PM IST

Job Summary

We are currently looking for a Manager, Accounting for our Gurugram, India office. We are seeking a dynamic people manager with excellent knowledge of key accounting and taxation functions as well as strong analytical and communication skills. This role will report to the Senior Manager Accounting and will be assisted by a team of accounting professionals based in Gurugram, India. This people manager should be confident in their ability to lead a team of accounting staff focus primarily on India Accounting, taxation, and local reporting. Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead & develop the India Accounting Team.
  • Oversee overall accounting & tax function related to Indian entity.
  • Oversee the compliances related to companies act, transfer pricing, income tax, goods & services tax.
  • Lead India related audits (statutory, tax or internal) and ensure timely deliverables to the auditors, stakeholders & tax authorities.
  • Develop & maintain healthy relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Global Accounting team with timely completing the month close and year end activities contributing to the accurate and timely reporting of financial results.
  • Partner with global tax team & support them in tax compliances for region other than India.
  • Partner with other departments to influence the internal policies and procedures to best meet the needs of our business.
  • Continuously evaluate internal controls in light of changing systems/processes and work with the stakeholders to identify and implement necessary control changes.
  • Prepare reports/analyses and participate in other projects as needed.
  • Assist in the identification of improvement opportunities with a focus on simplification, standardization, and optimization, especially the reduction of manual, Excel-based activities.
  • Assist with driving change management by working with IT and other key stakeholders related to any associated changes.
  • Assist in the implementation of on-going process improvement initiatives.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant with 4+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Mandatory prior experience of managing the team.
  • Experience of working in public accounting firms or global capability centers will be preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles including Ind-AS, practices and procedures.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Public company SOX experience a plus.
