GLG Social Impact Update

To our GLG community and friends –

When I last wrote to you in May, GLG was already fully mobilized in the fight against COVID-19, providing pro bono support to nonprofits on the frontline of the pandemic.

But this year’s challenges have consistently demanded that we do even more for the world.

As we’ve continued to double down on our COVID-19 response, we have also activated a new initiative to support nonprofits fighting for racial equity.

This year alone, GLG has already provided pro bono services to over 150 organizations reaching more than 100M people in 43 countries.

And today, I’m honored to introduce our 2020 GLG Social Impact Fellows: leaders of nine organizations at the frontlines of the response to COVID-19 and the fight for racial equity. You can watch a video to learn more about our Fellows and their impact here.

We’ve been committed to these issues, so focusing our 2020 Fellowship on these areas was a natural next step to deepen our impact. Fellows work with GLG in an intensive multi-year partnership that provides free access to the full suite of GLG product offerings and the support of hands-on GLG client service teams. In seven years, we’ve welcomed 65 leaders into our global community.

Of course, there’s still a great deal of work to do – and I’m again asking for your help to keep spreading the word. Many of the organizations we support, with over $2M in pro bono services so far this year, came to GLG directly from client or community referrals, or were nominated by GLG employees through our award-winning Social Impact Partners Program. It’s been so motivating to feel the determination and unity with which the entire GLG community has responded to the uncertainty of 2020. On behalf of everyone at GLG: thank you.

I’m proud of the hundreds of clients and experts who have either referred nonprofits to us or volunteered their expertise. And I’m proud of the nearly 250 GLGers who have stepped up to directly support this work (over 10% of our global workforce), all while working overtime to support our clients. It’s because of this extra effort that our business has stayed robust throughout 2020, with no layoffs, furloughs, or pay cuts (in fact, we’re hiring to meet the booming demand for insight).

As we all navigate the fourth quarter and look ahead to 2021, we want to continue to pitch in to help solve the world’s challenges wherever we can. GLG is proud to play a part in driving progress forward – but we’re not satisfied, and we want to keep finding new ways to help, with your partnership. Our inbox is always open, so please reach out.
