A common thread running through most things at Milken this week: the smart energy in the global business community is moving, in real time, towards solutions that make the world work better for everyone. That\u2019s an overdue shift, still in process, but it\u2019s one we\u2019re proud to be a part of at GLG.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m here with our GLG CEO Paul Todd, and today we\u2019re headed to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.milkeninstitute.org\/events\/conferences\/global-conference\/2019\/panel-detail\/9119\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">What Matters Now<\/a>, a series of Sunday briefings for sponsors and partners that kick off the conference. We\u2019re also excited and proud once again to be hosting our annual dinner saluting our GLG Social Impact Fellows tomorrow night. We\u2019ll be joined by GLG Director of Social Impact Jen Field, several of our Fellows, GLG clients, and other leaders in town for the Conference.<\/p>\n<p>At GLG, the power of insight in action is what drives our business. It\u2019s also what drives the Milken Conference, which was founded to put business expertise to work solving big social challenges. So I\u2019m particularly excited for these discussions tomorrow:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.milkeninstitute.org\/events\/conferences\/global-conference\/2019\/panel-detail\/8969\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Women in government: creating more pathways to leadership<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We need more women in power if we stand any chance of solving our nation\u2019s most urgent challenges. I\u2019m especially excited to hear from Mich\u00e8le Flournoy, former Under-Secretary of Defense under President Obama, whom I really admire.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.milkeninstitute.org\/events\/conferences\/global-conference\/2019\/panel-detail\/8942\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Higher education and the public trust<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a board member of the State University of New York (SUNY), I\u2019m honored to serve the nearly 1.3 million students enrolled in the largest comprehensive university system in the country. I\u2019m eager to hear the thinking from this panel of leaders from all different kinds of universities, both public and private.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.milkeninstitute.org\/events\/conferences\/global-conference\/2019\/panel-detail\/8817\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">The role of the CEO amidst a changing workforce \u2013 culture, growth, and innovation<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A panel that tackles how to lead through demographic, technological, and cultural shifts that are changing the shape of the workforce, and of work itself.
