TARGET POPULATION

For this Network Survey, GLG surveyed 70 sportswear retailers in the US and Europe (UK, France, Germany, Spain & Italy). This is the third iteration in this tracker series.

What will you learn from this survey?

  • Respondents discussed market level and sub-category sales performance for the past 12 months.
  • The survey explored the future developments associated with costs, growth forecast, and future sale channels to dominate the market.
  • Lastly, experts shared their views on brand performance during the Paris Olympics and Euro Cup 2024, as well as provided a competitive landscape for the brands.

Examples of findings:

  • 33% and 46% of experts slightly and strongly agree respectively that running and outdoor categories will continue growing in the next year.
  • Nike is regarded as the brand most demanded by customers across all categories (Running, Football, Lifestyle, Outdoor, Training, and Walking/city usage).
  • 81% of respondents have mentioned that market performance has increased compared to last year.

Deliverables

The GLG Surveys team drafted the questionnaire with the support of GLG Network Member, Volfango Bondi, Managing Director at Intersport.

  • What will be the trend for inventory in 2025 vs 2024?
