TARGET POPULATION

For this Network Survey, GLG surveyed 45 hotel brand franchisees, c-suite hotel chain executives across Europe and the US.

What will you learn from this survey?

  • Respondents provided their views on the disruption facing the lodging industry.
  • The survey explored hotel operators’ perception on the short and long term implications for hotel owners, franchisors, and lenders in the industry.
  • The research also looked into the possible relief that lenders and franchisors are providing to hotel owners during this time, as well as staffing reductions undertaken by hotel owners to mitigate losses.

Examples of findings:

  • Nearly four-in-ten expect operating margins to increase by less than 5% during 2024 and 2025, while three-in-ten expect the same margin increase by 2026.
  • Leisure and business travel are expected to increase in the following years, 2026 is estimated to bring the largest increase in both areas.
  • While nearly four-in-ten don’t expect to be reimbursed through government support, a similar proportion expect a reimbursement of 1% to 20% of lost revenue.
