TARGET POPULATION

For this Network Survey, GLG surveyed 50 senior executives from automotive supplier companies across the UK, Italy, France, Germany and Spain.

What will you learn from this survey?

  • Respondents commented on the current market overview and future outlook including change in size of the industry, proportion of companies expected to shut down in next 3 years and level of consolidation expected.
  • The research gathered experts’ views on the impact of EV transition on the industry covering areas like talent management, dealing with redundant production facilities, supplier management and change in demand as a result of EV transition.
  • Lastly, the survey captured an overview of the EV market, including expected share of EVs by 2030, expectation on EV incentive policy changes in the future to improve demand and expected resale value of EV as compared to ICE vehicles.

Examples of findings:

  • Over half (54%) of respondents foresee that around 11% to 20% of European automotive supplier companies will shut down operations in the next 3 years.
  • Six-in-ten (60%) experts declared that companies usually downsize their workforce when dealing with redundant production facilities as a result of EV transition.
  • One-in-two (50%) respondents believe that resale value of EVs will be lower than ICE vehicles.
