TARGET POPULATION
GLG interviewed 50 senior executives working within the Waste Management industry in Europe who commented on the outlook of the industry and the impact of certain operational difficulties surrounding COVID-19 and Brexit.
What will you learn from this survey?
- The survey investigated the impact of COVID-19 on the industry and the future of the industry going forward such as market size projections.
- Respondents discussed the operational challenges that are currently being faced within the industry as a result of COVID-19 and Brexit.
- Furthermore, the research covered the relationship with brokers and facility management companies, assessing their place within the market within the next 5 years.
Examples of findings:
- Concerns around staffing within the industry were raised by the majority of respondents (64%), with the major difficulties being in finding recycling operatives (88%), refuse collectors (69%) and HGV drivers (56%).
- Looking at the future of the market, respondents expect some change in the next three years, with 84% expecting an increase in acquisitions and market consolidation.
- Experts reviewed upcoming legislative and regulatory matters and evaluated the expected impact of these on the industry, with plastic tax and extended producer responsibility being evaluated as having the greatest impact (23% and 21% respectively).

- 95 senior executives from the Oil & Gas industry and Automotive industry were interviewed on the topic of e-mobility and electric vehicles charging infrastructure. The survey discussed topics such as the impact EVs will have on Oil and Gas as an industry, in addition to questions around the current state of the EV industry in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
