GLG interviewed 50 vet owners, practice managers and clinical directors across Europe (UK, France, Italy, Spain, and Germany).
What will you learn from this survey?
- Respondents discussed the current demand, trends and COVID-19 impact on the industry.
- The survey also investigated the changes in the space particularly regarding consolidation.
- Lastly, the research analysed the competitive landscape of Vet Clinics such as CVS, IVC and Vetpartners.
Examples of findings:
- Almost all respondents (88%) stated they expect to see further consolidation among the largest veterinary chains, with more than half (56%) stating this is extremely likely.
- Staffing appears to be a problem within the industry at current, with 94% describing ongoing issues as ‘major’ or ‘severe’.
- 100% of our experts believe that pet ownership volumes have increased over the past 3 years, with 72% stating these have increased significantly.
DELIVERABLES
The GLG Surveys team drafted the questionnaire with the support of GLG Network Member, Barry Brackner, former Executive at CVS.

- Third survey to follow the second wave conducted in November 2021 and first wave in May 2021. 70 senior executives working at pharmaceutical companies who are currently outsourcing to CDMOs (e.g., Lonza, Recipharm, Cambrexetc.) discussed the impact of COVID-19 on the sector and their projections on the outlook for 2021.
- Questionnaire was drafted by the former Chief Operating Officer at NextPharma.
