SURVEY DETAILS
TARGET POPULATION

For this Network Survey, GLG surveyed 70 senior executives working with solar panel distributors across US and Europe (UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy).

What will you learn from this survey?

  • Respondents commented on the overview of the solar panels market in terms of current sales, costs, supply scenario and demand in the industry, and how they expect these metrics to change in the future.
  • Further, the research gathered experts’ views on the regulatory landscape in the industry, including impact of California’s NEM (Net Energy Metering) 3.0, power purchase agreements, extension of federal solar tax credits and government support availability.
  • Lastly, the survey looked into the competitive landscape among the solar panel manufacturers, assessing the major players on the basis of price and quality, as well as looking into expectations for mergers and acquisitions by these players.

Examples of findings:

  • Nearly seven-in-ten (69%) respondents reported high battery storage cost as one of their main supply chain challenges.
  • Over half (57%) of respondents believe that a decline in interest rates will lead to an artificial price increase for solar panels.
  • In the next 5 years, over half (56%) of experts anticipate a solar panel cost of $4 to $6 per watt.
