TARGET POPULATION

GLG surveyed 40 senior executives within the satellite industry across the US, UK, Italy, France, Germany, Spain and MENA region.

What will you learn from this survey?

  • Respondents commented on the current scenario and the future outlook of the satellite industry in terms of revenue, demand and supply, within different sectors and geographies, as well as the consolidation moves expected in the industry.
  • The survey explored LEOs (low-earth orbit satellites) and how they are expected to impact the satellite service providers.
  • Lastly, the survey looked into the impact of recent mergers as well as geopolitics on the satellites industry.

Examples of findings:

  • Energy and consumer broadband are the sectors for which experts have seen the greatest undersupply, according to almost seven-in-ten (67%) and almost six-in-ten (57%) respondents, respectively.
  • Almost nine-in-ten (85%) experts believe that private equity is expected to be the most impactful capital source in the satellite sector in the next five years, public financial markets follow with six-in-ten (60%) stating the same.
  • Maxar (65%) and Airbus (63%) are seen as the satellite manufacturers that are best positioned to be market leaders by over six-in-ten experts.

Deliverables

The GLG Surveys team drafted the questionnaire with the support of GLG Network Member, William Germain, former Director of M&A at Inmarsat.
