TARGET POPULATION
The GLG Surveys team interviewed 70 senior executives working in the infrastructure and construction space along with distributors of building materials who commented on the latest trends in the space and COVID-19 impact in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
What will you learn from this survey?
- The survey investigated the impact of COVID-19 on the industry and the specific outcomes from the pandemic.
- Respondents discussed the operational challenges that will play a key role the next three years for the infrastructure and construction space, but also for distributors of building materials.
- Furthermore, the research covered the trend towards digitalisation in the industry and the factors influencing this.
Examples of findings:
- The most prominent outcome from the impact of COVID-19 has been higher operating costs (57%), followed by reduction in revenue (51%).
- Commercial building construction has suffered the greatest impact from COVID-19 (74%), followed by residential construction (49%).
- The vast majority of respondents (89%) report that businesses will move towards adoption of digital technology, with key benefits reported such as better collaboration (47%) and higher efficiency (43%).

- Second survey to follow the first survey conducted in May 2021. 50 senior executives working at airports in Europe discussed their expected passenger volume and main factors that can help or slow down the recovery to pre COVID-19 levels. The survey also gathered insights on their views on COVID-19 passports and how their introduction will align with country quarantining restrictions, along with projections on which countries will recover the quickest from the impact of COVID-19.
