SURVEY DETAILS

GLG surveyed 50 current executives working across a range of industries in Europe who commented on key aspects of the EU Green Deal. This is the third iteration in this tracker series.

What will you learn from this survey?

  • The survey assessed the impact on companies from the European Green Deal strategy.
  • Respondents provided insights on sustainability and green initiatives in companies operating in Europe.
  • Our experts discussed current interests on climate related issues such as environmental protection, de-carbonisation and protection of biodiversity.

Examples of findings:

  • Only 8% of the experts stated companies in their sector are extremely prepared to comply with “due diligence” and accurate reporting requirements from an environmental/ climate perspective, down from 16% in the previous iteration.
  • Overall, 50% of the respondents stated that companies in their sector are favouring increasing sale prices for products or services in order to accommodate environmental and climate related concerns.
  • 70% of the experts stated that businesses are likely to pass on extra energy costs to consumers in the next one year.

DELIVERABLES

The GLG Surveys team drafted the questionnaire with the support of GLG Network Member, Andrea Mogni, former senior financial expert on EU affairs at the European Commission. 

The standard deliverable includes: 

  • 1 x Individual responses (“raw data”) in Excel.
  • 1 x PPT report with aggregated data.
  • Executive summary with key takeaways and highlights from the raw data.

  • What is the level of importance in companies in your sector to contribute in protecting global public goods such as the environment, clean air, oceans, water, and biodiversity?
  • How could you describe and define the environmental or “green” culture within companies in your sector?
  • How do you think that companies in your sector will be affected by the European Green Deal strategy?
  • How relevant are environmental and climate-related concerns for businesses in your sector when dealing with clients and industry partners?
  • Do you think that complying with ESG matters may increase companies’ competitive advantage, effectiveness, efficiency, and performance?
  • In your view, what is the position of companies in your sector on increasing sale prices of its products or services in order to accommodate environmental and climate related concerns?
  • Do you have any particular view about the future of the nuclear energy in Europe?
