GLG surveyed 70 senior executives from e-bike retailers across the US, UK, Italy, France, Germany and Spain.

What will you learn from this survey?

  • Respondents commented on the current scenario and future outlook of the e-bikes industry in terms of demand, supply, stock levels, pricing trends, revenue and sales volume.
  • The research gathered experts’ views on the customer side considerations for purchasing e-bikes including reasons for purchase, factors affecting purchase decision, safety concerns as well as current unmet needs.
  • Lastly, the survey captured the competitive landscape in the e-bikes market, assessing the major players in the market on the basis of quality, consumer affordability, safety and dealer margins.

Examples of findings:

  • Over six-in-ten (61%) saw an increase between 20% to 40% in e-bike sales during the last 1 year.
  • Over four-in-five (84%) state that theft is the most common safety concern raised by costumers, near two-thirds (64%) mention it is battery fire hazard.
  • Scott Sports is regarded as the top OEM e-bike supplier across all attributes, i.e. quality (49%), consumer affordability (37%), dealer margins (47%) and safety of e-bikes (50%).
