GLG interviewed 50 senior executives managing non-performing loans (NPL) within Europe.

Examples of findings:

  • Looking at NPL product classes in 2021, consumer unsecured (e.g. credit cards) was selected as the most popular (62%), followed by SME unsecured (56%).
  • The majority of respondents believe that there will be an increase in both demand (50%) and supply (56%) for non-performing loans in 2022.
  • Looking at 2022, respondents expect that the most popular regions to acquire NPLs will be France (76%) and Italy (76%), followed by Spain (66%).
