GLG interviewed 70 senior executives within the financial services industry across the US and Europe (UK, France, Italy, Spain and Germany).
What will you learn from this survey?
- The research assessed the current trends for cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, revisiting the topic from January 2022.
- Experts provided their views on the space and generally on cryptocurrencies as a form of investment.
- Lastly, the survey provided an overview of barriers related to the cryptocurrency space such as regulation.
Examples of findings:
- Respondents evaluated their views on cryptocurrencies, with the majority continuing to believe cryptocurrencies to be a necessary component of a diversified portfolio (63%).
- Overall recognition of particular cryptocurrencies was also uncovered, with Bitcoin continuing to be the most recognisable (100%), followed by Ethereum (86%).
- The greatest barrier to widespread adoption is no longer considered to be government regulation, views have shifted toward price volatility being the main barrier (43%).
DELIVERABLES
The GLG Surveys team drafted the questionnaire with the support of GLG Network Member, Pelli Wang, Managing Partner at DeerCreek.

- The survey was drafted by Omar El Sherif, former director of Commercial International Bank (CIB).
- Market Research Firms
- 70 customers of Market Research firms, such as Kantar, Ipsos, and Nielsen, were interviewed on their usage of these firms and what influences their use of these. Questionnaire was drafted by Nick Findlay, former Global Head of Operations at Kantar. Data released in March 2022.
