GLG interviewed 70 senior executives working in pharmaceutical companies across the US and Europe who provided their views on the API supply and manufacturing space.
What will you learn from this survey?
- Respondents discussed about the current demand for sourcing products and average inventory level most pharmaceutical companies normally keep for critical APIs.
- The survey also gathered insight into the approximate value of catalyst purchases per year and the countries where the experts are sourcing them.
- Lastly, participants provided their views on the most important factors that influence their decision-making process for selecting suppliers.
Examples of findings:
- Overall, 83% of experts mentioned they have 2 or more suppliers per product.
- In Europe, 86% of respondents stated prices have increased in the last 12 months, compared to 75% reporting the same trend in the US.
- The majority of respondents have ranked “compliance/ regulatory” as the most important factor for selecting a supplier, followed by price and capacity.
DELIVERABLES
The GLG Surveys team drafted the questionnaire with the support of GLG Network Member, Harmeet Lamba, former Vice President & Head (API’s & Niche Formulations) at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited.
The standard deliverable includes:
