On Tuesday, October 9, 2018, GLG welcomed its new class of Social Impact Fellows for our annual convening in New York. The 2018 Fellows spent the day meeting the GLGers who will be supporting their critical work, getting to know other Fellows past and present, attending workshops explaining how to get the most out of GLG\u2019s platform, and building skills they can bring back to their organizations.<\/p>\n

That evening, GLG\u2019s 2017 Fellows joined the 2018 Fellows at the headquarters of\u00a0The Future Project<\/a>, a nonprofit organization co-founded by 2015 Fellow\u00a0Kanya Balakrishna<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Balakrishna, GLG Fellowship Manager Rachel Wald, and Executive Director of\u00a0The Coach Foundation<\/a>\u00a0Margaret Coady led a discussion and Q&A on how organizations can more effectively align their missions with corporate partners.<\/p>\n

The two-day event concluded Wednesday with a group dinner attended by GLG CEO Paul Todd and featuring GLG Chief People Officer Melinda Wolfe in conversation with Mona Sinha, Co-Founder of\u00a0Raising Change<\/a>, a social change platform focused on mission-driven fundraising. The conversation covered new fundraising tools, ideas, and frameworks that Fellows can incorporate into their development strategies.<\/p>\n

GLG\u2019s 2018 Social Impact Fellows lead organizations serving vulnerable populations and addressing some of society\u2019s most pressing challenges \u2013 from building cleaner homes in Rwanda, to preventing suicide in the LGBTQ population, to improving healthcare outcomes in India, among others.
