Senior Manager, People Operations

Position Overview:

The APAC Operations team is looking to hire a Hong Kong-based Senior Manager with an in-depth understanding of
People Operations who can support the region on people initiatives and ensure that Operations is able to
strategically approach People Operations issues while also ensuring execution is done effectively.

  • The role will offer exposure to a broad range of strategic and operational topics including but not exhaustive
  • Core operating model enhancement for new & existing employees (client solutions, project solutions
    and or council development team)
  • Upskilling and development initiatives
  • Technical coaching and leadership development
  • Technical content localization and deployment
  • Benchmark/optimize incentive structures and career development pathways
  • Evaluate employee value proposition & retention
  • Bring to bear people operations best practices
  • Change management, project management and complex implementation initiatives across multiple
    business verticals

The role will also provide regular exposure to the full GLG regional management team, global operations
team and General Managers and the broader organization both in APAC & EMEA.

The role will report to the Vice President, Client Solutions who will provide a close mentoring environment to rapidly accelerate

At the same time, this role will enjoy a great deal of autonomy to own and drive forward operational
projects, and as the role progresses to own delivery of larger projects and implementations.
Specific responsibilities include:

This role is focused on people operational efficiencies and implementation in a highly entrepreneurial
environment. Day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Specific Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)
• Developing and owning hiring strategy and process for Platform Operations teams including profile
definition, interviewing and onboarding of new hires as well as assisting with similar activities within
APAC for other programs as required
• Developing, rolling out and owning key features of the Platform Operations people strategy
including training, career management and progression, performance management and incentives,
working closely with the Americas and APAC to ensure global alignment as well as assisting with
similar activities within EMEA for other programs as required
• Acting as a key partner and point of contact for all People Operations team initiatives wherever
there is intersect with the APAC business, including workflows and technology processes
• Defining and owning change management processes for day-to day operations (e.g. project
execution and technology rollouts) and larger projects

Liaising with Americas, EMEA and APAC stakeholders to define and cultivate a consistent GLG people
An ideal candidate will have the following:
• Undergraduate degree from a tier 1 university
• 6+ years of experience within a management consultancies, expert networks or strategy/operational
roles within financial services firms; additional work experience desirable
• Professional experience, ideally in operations, change management or talent development
• Broad strategic thinker able to pick up and engage on a broad range of business topics
• Have superior communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Proven track record in stakeholder management
• Have a sense of ownership and an entrepreneurial spirit; be comfortable in a dynamic and evolving
• Strong drive to 'crack the problem' with a deep intellectual curiosity and integrity, combined with a
practical sense of how to cut to the core issues and analysis
• Superior communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead and implement change without line authority
• Ability to build trusting relationships with key business leaders and other stakeholders across the
• Practical mindset with a strong bias towards execution
• Results driven and action oriented approach
• Proven ability to drive operational excellence
• Solid grip on strategic and financial fundamentals
• Experience of conducting high quality analysis
• Good facility with Excel and PowerPoint
• Comfort with ambiguity
• Able to read and write Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) and English idiomatically
