Business Development Associate, Account Management

Experience Level: Junior

GLG is seeking a Business Development Associate to join our Professional Services Firms Sales team. In this role, you will support the Business Development team in establishing and building relationships with clients in the Americas. You will also provide administrative support to account managers, with the opportunity to grow into overseeing a portfolio of client relationships. You will generate new client leads and prospect new users, use GLG’s CRM to track and map client accounts, and work in collaboration with account managers across the region to drive adoption and usage of GLG’s services.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • "Map" client organizations to identify potential new buyers/users of GLG's services and promoters within
  • Prospect new GLG users
  • Assist with administrative tasks across the team (e.g. client invoicing, user profiles)
  • Support team efforts on buildout and delivery of client marketing campaigns
  • Execute on account growth objectives in consultation with manager; and
  • Push out new product, service and pricing initiatives to clients and collect customer feedback on those initiatives.

An ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • Demonstrated success selling information services and solutions is preferred; experience servicing professionals in a fast-paced environment is a plus
  • The ability to build relationships with GLG clients and a “client first” mentality
  • Ability to work well independently and be a self-starter/problem solver
  • A strong passion for persuasion, especially around complicated and intellectually challenging issues 
  • Superior verbal communication skills
  • A demonstrated ability to read and understand people
