Revenue Staff Accountant

Experience Level: Junior

We are currently looking for a Staff Revenue Accountant to join our team. We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual with excellent accounting knowledge as well as strong analytical and communication skills. This role will focus primarily on facilitating the month-end close process for the revenue cycle, including account reconciliations and analyses for the related balance sheet accounts.  In addition, the Staff Revenue Accountant will also support the Accounting department by contributing to the accurate and timely reporting of financial results to our internal and external stakeholders. The Finance team is responsible for all of GLG’s financial and accounting operations. Our team handles all financial planning, sales operations, accounting, expense management, and business management consultation to all of the individual business units and departments.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Review and approve project-based and survey revenue activity, with a focus on accuracy and proper cutoff for revenue recognition.
  • Review and approve time-based contracts for proper and timely revenue recognition.
  • Process non-standard transactional-based revenue activity.
  • Partner with business stakeholders on inquiries regarding revenue entries.
  • Prepare analyses and journal entries to facilitate the month-end close
  • Provide detailed account analysis and reconciliation for various balance sheet accounts, including deferred revenue and other revenue-related accounts.
  • Prepare supporting documentation as requested by audit firms
  • Opportunity for increased responsibilities depending on candidate’s experience and skillset, and as efficiencies are gained with existing processes.

 

An ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • At least one year of relevant revenue recognition accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, specifically for revenue recognition topics.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time; this role is very hands on and requires someone who will “roll up their sleeves”
  • Must have excellent communications skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships across the company’s operations
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Experience with Great Plains, Salesforce.com, and fluency in SQL a plus

Compensation: GLG is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. Certain roles may also be eligible for incentive compensation.

The anticipated hiring base salary range for this role is:
$54,700$85,000 USD
